The Courier Fife
The following text is from an article in The Courier, a local paper in Fife on Wednesday 20th January. The piece promotes the event being organised by the Mollisons, to see details of the event click here.
A Fife couple are organising a sponsored walk across the Forth Road Bridge to raise funds to help a little girl with a rare form of cancer get lifesaving treatment in the USA.
Two-year old Stella Rogers was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was aged 17 months and although she has responded well to aggressive treatment, her chances of survival are still low.
Revolutionary antibody treatment during a crucial time period in the US would improve her chances to 80%, but it costs £250,000 and her parents John and Allison Rogers, have launched an appeal to help raise funds.
The family live in Canterbury, but Neil and Emma Mollison from Dalgety Bay were at university in the Kent city with John and are doing everything they can to help.
They’ve organised a walk across the bridge (and back!) on Saturday, February 20 and already have several willing volunteers. If the walk can’t take place because of bad weather, it will go ahead on the first fine weekend thereafter.
Neil, originally from Dundee, and Emma are now looking for sponsors and anyone wishing to help can donate through the website http://www.justgiving.com/Emma-Neil
Over £8,000 has been raised on the main Just Giving site for Stella.
